NetGain Technologies Launches Parent Company Called Helix Technology Partners

New Structure Improves Focus and Scalability Given Rapid Growth; Hank Dallam will be CEO of NetGain as Tim Burke will head parent company Helix; Helix names Kelsey Randhawa President, Dwight Sawin Chief Financial Officer, and Jessica Zhang Chief Operating Officer

HOUSTON (March 22, 2023) – Given rapid growth, NetGain Technologies, backed by Evergreen Services Group, announced today the creation of a new parent company, Helix Technology Partners, that separates its information technology and cybersecurity business from its acquisition strategy. As a holding company, Helix will oversee NetGain and its 13 managed service provider investments in the Midwestern and Southeastern United States.

Under the new structure, Helix will be responsible for all acquisition strategy, shared services, and portfolio value creation. NetGain will singularly focus on growing its IT and cybersecurity business.

Helix will be run by several leaders from NetGain Technologies. Tim Burke will move up from Chief Executive Officer of NetGain to CEO of Helix Technology Partners. Burke is joined by President Kelsey Randhawa, former Chief of Staff at NetGain, and Chief Financial Officer Dwight Sawin, former Vice President of Finance at NetGain. Jessica Zhang joins Helix as Chief Operating Officer. Hank Dallam will succeed Burke as CEO of NetGain.

“We’re excited to announce the launch of Helix,” said Burke. “Our passion is to accelerate the growth of great businesses. Our new structure facilitates this mission by giving us improved focus, accountability, and scalability. We look forward to even greater collaboration across our companies in service of our employees and clients.”

The creation of Helix further accelerates the decentralized acquisition strategy started under the NetGain brand in 2019. Under this model, businesses operate independently and retain their employees, branding, and operations after acquisition. Many business owners appreciate this strategy because it retains their legacy and the experience for employees and clients. At the same time, Helix businesses benefit from greater support, which has yielded consistent growth in sales, profit, and the employee base.

Because Helix will lead M&A efforts, NetGain Technologies can double down on client satisfaction, expand its client reach, and continue investing in its sales and marketing strategies.

Originally founded in 1984, NetGain Technologies established itself as a leading local IT service provider, expanding operations to six branches and five states. It’s one of the largest regional Service Organizational Control (SOC) 2 Type II Certified technology and cybersecurity providers. This means it employs the highest controls for protecting client’s most sensitive and confidential information. In 2018 NetGain was acquired by Evergreen Services Group, an investing group that operates best-in-class service companies, to serve as Evergreen’s hub for its managed service provider investments in the Midwestern and Southeastern United States. Since Evergreen’s initial investment, NetGain has acquired 13 businesses spanning 11 states and 20 cities. Its employee base has also grown from 125 to over 700 people.

“There are inherent scaling limitations to running a portfolio of companies while also growing a services business. Local clients, employees, and opportunities compete with global company priorities. This change will enable us to better serve our missions at Helix and NetGain – and do so at an even greater scale,” said Burke.

NetGain Technologies, led by Dallam, will be responsible for driving strategy, operations, and client satisfaction for its six locations in Lexington, Kentucky; Louisville, Kentucky; Cincinnati, Ohio; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Little Rock, Arkansas; and St. Louis, Missouri.

Burke hired Dallam in September 2022 and has supported Dallam in his transition over the past few months. Burke will continue to be involved at NetGain as its board leader.

Most recently, Dallam served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Just in Time Services & Rentals, a construction rental service for oil and gas businesses. There he improved operational efficiencies, employee safety and retention, and scaled the business from $5.5 million to $9 million in revenue over three years. A former army infantry officer, Dallam understands operations, service excellence, and the importance of teambuilding.

“Our philosophy at Helix is to empower exceptional leaders to run our businesses, supporting them as needed. Dallam is an experienced leader who has demonstrated an ability to operate efficiently at scale, steward culture, and deliver quality services to clients. I’m confident that Dallam is the right leader to build on NetGain’s success,” said Burke.

As a result of the new structure, Helix will serve as Evergreen’s public-facing platform company, and NetGain will become a Helix subsidiary. A local CEO will run each Helix company and report to Burke. This change is effective immediately.
